What we collect
To provide credit monitoring we collect the information needed to identify you and retrieve your credit file: your name, date of birth, address, Social Security number, email address and phone number. With your authorization we then receive your credit report and credit score data from consumer reporting agencies through our credit data provider.
We also collect ordinary technical information when you use the service -- IP address, device and browser type, and pages visited -- for security and to operate the site.
How we use it
- To verify your identity and retrieve your credit information
- To display your score, report and alerts to you
- To notify you of changes to your credit file
- To secure the service and prevent fraud
- To provide customer support
- To comply with legal obligations
What we do not do
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your credit data with third parties for their own marketing. Checking your credit through Instacredit is a soft inquiry that is not visible to lenders.
Security
Personal and credit data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access within Instacredit is restricted to staff who need it to operate the service.
Your choices
You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. That cancels your subscription, removes your credit bureau connection and erases your Social Security number, date of birth and address from our systems. We keep your name, email address and phone number as an inactive record so we can contact you about Instacredit, subject to records we are required to keep by law. To have that contact record removed as well, or if you would rather a person handled the whole thing, contact [email protected].
